This year being our Centenary Year, our Pentecost celebrations were a little different to previous years.
We were honoured to have Archbishop Sentamu come to preside and preach for us, and the congregation included, by special invite, members of staff both past and present from the Priory, the Infirmary, the Sneaton Castle Centre and St Oswald's Pastoral Centre.
Our decorations in Chapel included a flame which did indeed come with a sound like a rushing wind!
The device was very generously loaned to us by one of the local clothing shops.
At the end of the Eucharist, Archbishop Sentamu blessed the stole which Sr Karan will be wearing this Sunday in York Minster when she is ordained to the Priesthood. Please remember her in your prayers.
The Eucharist was followed by an excellent buffet lunch, and we were very fortunate that the sun was shining on us.
