Golden Jubilee, Concerts and Open Day

On Wednesday 26th June, Sr Nancye celebrated her 50th Profession Anniversary.  We had a sung Eucharist at 12.15, followed by a celebration lunch.  In the afternoon we gathered in the Infirmary Sitting Room to see the cards which Sr Nancye had received, and to share in her cake.

Previously, on Saturday 15th June, we had hosted the annual Old Girls' Concert in Chapel.  Three Sisters joined the Old Girls and The Caedmon Singers for a variety of styles of music, including some instrumental pieces.

Coming up later this month, on Saturday 13th July, The Tuesday Singers are in concert in Chapel, and on Saturday 27th July, the Open Day is taking the form of a drop-in afternoon.  The money raised from the Afternoon will be put towards a new vehicle for the Sisters in Sunyani.  Their current pick-up is quite old now and has been needing much repair work recently to keep it road-worthy.  A suitable replacement vehicle will cost in the region of £15,000.  It is vital to the work of Sisters Mavis and Sabina that they have a road-worthy vehicle as their work within the Diocese of Sunyani and with the Vocation School increases.
