Sister Nancye OHP

Sister Nancye died peacefully on Wednesday 18th March, at 11.25pm.  Her funeral will take place on Thursday 26th March at 12 noon, followed by burial in the Sisters' Cemetary.

Sister Nancye celebrated her Golden Jubilee in 2013, and with the community had worked in both the UK and Ghana.  After her Profession in 1963, she went out to Mampong to teach at the Training College, and in 1970 she became the Principle.  On leaving Ghana, she had a sabbatical in which she visited New Zealand for three months and then stayed with the Sisters of the Love of God at Fairacres.  She was then based in London, working in the Chaplaincy at St Mary's Hospital from 1977 to 1983.  This experience will have been useful for her, as from there she was based at St Oswald's Pastoral Centre, Sleights, before returning to the Priory in 1986 to be Guest Sister.

Before joining OHP, she obtained an MA from the University of New Zealand, her Teachers' Diploma from Christchurch Teachers' Training College and the Licentiate in Theology Diploma from the New Zealand Board of Theological Studies.
