Centenary Launch Concert
Centenary Flower Festival
The theme for the Flower Festival was "100 years of OHP". The displays showcased the variety of work which has been undertaken by the Order, and the work being done today, from teaching and midwifery to vestment sewing and music to prayer and worship.
Friday 17th July was the Launch Evening for the Flower Festival. There was music in Chapel provided by the Sisters, as well as refreshments - drinks and canapes - available in the Refectory. Sisters were on hand to talk to all visitors following the short opening welcome by Sr Dorothy Stella.
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July were open days for the Flower Festival. The was a small charge for entry, which included a copy of the Programme, and refreshments were available in the Sisters' Refectory, along with stalls selling items the Sisters had made for the occasion.
The Festival ended with a Songs of Praise service on the Sunday evening in place of Vespers, with Chapel full to bursting with all the guests.
Many of the visitors came more than once to see the displays and to learn more about the work which OHP has done over the years.
The Tuesday Singers moved their July Concert to Saturday 26th September, to help us celebrate 100 years of OHP. The concert took the "usual" format of a variety of music in a variety of styles and included solo items from members of the choir, which included two of the Sisters.
